TESTIMONIALS

What do our clients say about us

We have different treatments depending on the type of cockroach present, so before we carry out any treatment we carry out an inspection to determine the species present, the location of the problem and the potential causes.

Large cockroach treatment:

Large cockroaches, such as the American or Australian cockroach, generally live outside or under the home / in the roof void, only coming inside to look for moisture and food.

What do we do?

  • Spray external perimeter and hotspots such as drains and bins
  • Blow powder into weepholes, sub-floors and roof voids
  • Use cockroach baits in kitchen and internal areas if required

Small cockroach treatment

Small cockroaches, such as the German cockroach, only live indoors. Due to their small size, they can be more difficult to control. In cases of severe infestation, more than one visit may be required.

What do we do?

  • Primarily use cockroach gels in infested areas
  • Spot use of sprays or dusts in areas unsuitable for baiting

Our spray treatments are design to kill any cockroaches that come into contact with either the spray or treated surface. For our outdoor perimeter treatment, it is designed to work as a “barrier”, killing the cockroaches outside before they get inside. Our sprays do not stain surfaces.

We blow dust into the sub-floor or roof voids to kill any cockroaches present and providing long lasting protection.

For many cockroach problems, especially German cockroach problems we will use cockroach baits. Generally we don’t like to spray in kitchens where cockroaches like to hide, but actually baits are the best product for eliminating indoor infestations anyway.

We place the cockroach gel bait near to suspected hiding places and the cockroaches feed on the bait, taking it back to their hiding places where it is also feed on by the young (by eating the adults’ vomit and droppings!). This ensures it eliminates the whole population.

Baits can take 1-2 weeks to spread through the whole population and gain control. In heavy infestations a second treatment may be necessary.

Good hygiene is the secret to preventing many cockroach problems:

  • Clear up any spilled food
  • Clean down and under the oven / fridge regularly
  • Do not leave unwashed dishes out overnight
  • Do not leave pet food bowls out with food in or unwashed
  • Food should be stored in tight “cockroach proof” containers
  • Put rubbish into sealed bins and stack away from the house

Cockroaches love moisture so fix any leaking pipes or taps.

Make sure insect screens are tight fitting and fill any other gaps in the walls and floors that could allow cockroaches to enter.

As the large species of cockroaches often like to live in and around wood piles, mulch and  garden debris, keep such materials away from buildings.

German cockroaches often get brought into the house by accident, hiding in cardboard boxes. Check incoming packaging material (such as cardboard boxes) for cockroaches and their egg cases.
